Mumbai: After an overnight haul about his criticial condition, Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray's health is said to be stable even as the entire state has reportedly been put on high alert. 
4.00 pm:Shiv Sena leader Subhash Desai says: "His condition is improving steadily. The improvement of Shiv Sena pramukh's health is a result of the prayers for him and we hope he will be in better condition soon."
"Leaders from various parties are meeting with Uddhav Thackeray to express their support in his time of need.  Davaai ke saath dua ka bhi asar ho raha hai (Along with medicines, the good wishes are also helping his health)," he adds.
Desai went on to add: "He is not in a condition to meet everyone and it isn't correct also. He has met very few select persons today."
2.40 pm: BJP leader Nitin Gadkari and Bollywood actor Salman Khan reach Matoshree to see ailing Balasaheb. Salman was accompanied with father Salim Khan and brother Arbaaz. 
Both father Salim and son Salman have been close to Raj Thackeray and are also known to Balasaheb and his family.

Sources said, Salman was escorted by friend Raj Thackeray but it seems difficult if the actor will be able to meet Balasaheb.

12.45 pm: As the 86-year-old Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeary is battling for his life, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Ganesh Naik, Jayant Patil and Venugopal Dhoot and renowned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar too visited Matoshree to see the ailing leader. 
12.30 pm: Police deployment has been increased. Cabs and autos vanish as a tense calm prevails in Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Vile Parle. In Jogeshwari tension mounts as shops in the east are shut but shops in the west refuse to shut. 
12.15 pm: MNS chief and Balasaheb's estranged nephew Raj Thackeray arrives in Matoshree to see his ailing uncle
11.30 am:As the crowds continue to pour outside the Thackeray’s residence ‘Matoshree’ in suburban Bandra, over 1,000 policemen and teams of the Rapid Action Force have been deployed outside the residence to control the situation.
11.25 am: Senior Shiv Sena leaders like Manohar Joshi and Neelam Gorhe visited Matoshree to check Balasaheb's health condition.
11.15 am:A new team of specialist doctors have just arrived at Matoshree. According to sources, a team of five specialist doctors from Leelavati hospital entered into Balasheb's home shift intensive care unit (ICU).
10.45 am: Shops shut in many localities in Mumbai. Some schools closed unofficially. Apprehension of violence if Thakareys's condition worsens. 
10.40 am:Shiv Sena's elected Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut claimed that Balasaheb is responding to medication. "He is stable and the team of doctors is monitoring the situation," Raut said.
Raut went on to add: "Doctors said that Thackeray had responded in a 'miraculous' manner to treatment. He is still undergoing treatment."
10.35 am: Balasaheb's grandson Aditya Thackeray puts up a post on Facebook urging everyone to be optimistic about his ailing grandfather's health. "Lets be optimistic and pray for his fast recovery!" he posted on Facebook.
10.15 am:Meanwhile BJP leader Gopinath Munde added, "His health has substantially improved since last night".
A team of doctors supported by a small unit of medical staff has been posted at his residence 'Matoshree' to monitor the condition of the Sena patriarch, a source close to Thackerays said.
According to reports, there was no official update about Thackeray's health, the Mumbai police do not want to take any chances and are present in large numbers throughout the city. Mumbai Police has also started assigning reserved forces at Matoshree which has also indicated about Thackeray's bad health. Around 1,000 men have been deployed outside Matoshree.
On Wednesday, Balasaheb's son Udhav Thackeray on loud speakers, installed at the Matoshree gates, addressed around 10,000 Shiv Sena workers. He revealed that the doctor’s are trying to retrieve Balasaheb and urged the workers to control and maintain peace.
