Indore:The National Investigative Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested a youth from Depalpur for his alleged role in 2007 Mecca masjid blasts that killed 16 persons.
Incidentally, he is the third person from Depalpur to be arrested by NIA in connection to terror attacks in the last 15 days.
The NIA picked up Tejram Parmar (25) in a dramatic manner from Depalpur court premises, triggering abduction rumors.
Following the outrage, the NIA produced Tejram, son of Hindu Singh, a resident of Ravidas Marg, before Depalpur police.
The team left the town after a hectic drama that saw the residents gather at police station in large number and stage a protest.
The NIA operation started around 1pm when two persons (NIA officers) came to Depalpur court in an Indica car (MP-09 TA 1066) and started talking to Tejram.
As the NIA officers cajoled Tejram outside the court premises, they suddenly pushed Tejram inside their car and left the place in a hurry.
Tejram's brother Hari Singh, also present on the scene, raised an alarm. He thought that his brother was abducted by someone.
Soon advocates Dinesh Dod and Rajesh Parihar accompanied by Hari Singh lodged a complaint regarding Tejram's abduction with Depalpur police and faxed the message to the IG and the DGP.
Sources in NIA told DNA that Tejram is a close aide of Dashrath alias Rajendra Chaudhry who was arrested from Nagda,Ujjain on December 15.
The officer said that Tejram was involved in 2007 Mecca mosque blast with Chaudhry.
