New Delhi: Information and Broadcasting ministry has asked the representatives of Zee TV and the Jindal group to appear for a hearing next week. The inter-ministerial committee has suggested that both the complainant be given an opportunity to put facts of the case before them.
The Jindal group had accused the channel Zee News of trying to extort Rs 100 crore for not carrying stories related to the coal allocation scam.
Sources said that the ministry was within its rights to revoke the license of the channel if it was proved that there had been grave violations.
