Ludhiana: Adopting a tough stance against defaulters, the Ludhiana municipal corporation has decided to issue notice of auction of property of those who fail to pay their water and sewage bill on time.
During a meeting with officials of the operations and maintenance cell (O&M), municipal corporation Ajay Kumar gave the officials a target of recovering Rs 10 crore in the next two months.
He told the officials to get their acts together and achieve the target.
The municipal corporation had recovered nearly Rs 19 crore from water and sewage bill in the previous financial year, while it has obtained Rs 14 crore in this financial year.
During the meeting, officials apprised the municipal commissioner about the severe staff shortage following which it was decided that house-tax department superintendent will also assist O&M officials in their work.
