Iron Fist 2013: IAF demonstrates prowess at Indo-Pak border

Pokhran/Japiur: Indian Air Force’s fighter planes and helicopters flexed their muscle when ‘Iron Fist’ one of the biggest exercises conducted by the IAF, Friday, at Pokhran, Asia’s largest firing range.

The show sure sent shivers down the spines of India’s enemies placed approximately 125 km from the range in Pakistan.
First, goods carrier plane IL-78 fired a missile which was shot down seconds later by fighter plane.
This is Indian Air Force’s biggest show of strength and almost all planes of its fleet are taking part in this event.
Army Chiefs of all forces, Supreme Commander President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defense Minister A.K Anthony, Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne, Rajasthan governor Margret Alwa, Chief Minister of state Ashok Ghelot and former External Affairs minister Jaswant Singh became a part of this show of strength.
MIG- 29 fighter plane broke the sound barrier forming a sonic boom.
Jaguar, MIG-27, MIG-29, MIG-21 Bison did the fly past. Sukhoi- 30 MKI formed a trident in the air.
The show began around 3.30 in the afternoon when the president came to the event. MI-8 helicopters made the Indian flag while MIG-27 displayed an iron fist in the air.
MIG-21 Bison, Sukhoi-30 MKI fired iron bombs in cluster formation.
The assembled gathering on Friday looked in awe and admiration as frontline planes and helicopters in the IAF's inventory displayed their flying and firing abilities.
President Pranab Mukherjee was welcomed with flowers being showered over him through MI-8 planes.
