Jaipur: Retired Rajasthan High Court judge Rajesh Balia and retired IAS officer T Srinivasan would be appointed as Chairman of State Human Right Commission and Chief Information Commissioner of Rajasthan.
The decisions were taken in two separate meetings chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, sources said.
In the first meeting attended by Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat, Law Minister Shanti Dhariwal and Leader of the Opposition Vasundhara Raje, the decision to appoint Balia as chairman of the State Human Rights Commission was taken.
The decision to appoint former chief secretary T Srinivasan as state Chief Information Commissioner was taken in the second meeting in which Dhariwal and Raje were present.
Both the meetings were presided over by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the sources said.
The state government will now forward the names to Governor Shivraj Patil for his assent and after approval formal official announcement would be made in few days.
