Jaipur: The NIMS University has a one-day deadline to demolish the four-storey illegal building by itself otherwise it will be grounded by a blast.
The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has geared up for the blasting and already contacted the blasting expert.
The building has been found encroaching over 8,125 sqm of land in the catchment area of Ramgarh Dam as per the JDA (Jaipur Development Authority) Tribunal court’s order.
In its recent decision, the court has ordered the NIMS to demolish the building by November 1 or else the enforcement cell will be on its task to raze it down. The building is being used for the hostel facility currently.
Against the order, the NIMS moved the Rajasthan High Court but have not got any relief. On the other hand, the management of the university did not take initiative for demolition in compliance of the tribunal court. Therefore, the enforcement cell with the authority has geared up for the planning to ground the highrise.
However, the administration of the authority opined that the building will be grounded with a blast as the drilling with the JCB machine will take several days. For this, the civic body has contacted with blasting expert SB Sarvate who razed nine-storey building of Era Group housing that were found encroaching over the flowing area of the Amanishah Nullah recently.
“The building could be demolished definitely with a blast only. Blasting expert SarVate will be roped in for this who demolished the buildings of the ERA Group safely,” said a senior officials with the JDA.
The university has been accused of constructing buildings over the catchment area. The civic body and the district administration were running an enforcement drive to demolish squatters in the catchment area that blocked the flow of water towards Ramgarh Dam. Later, the monitoring committee set up by the high court also inspected site of the university and termed it as encroachment.
