Reuters has reported that the BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion has started carrier testing of its new line of BlackBerry 10 devices.
The launch of the new BlackBerry devices and the operating system BB10, which may save RIM’s future, is expected in the first quarter of 2013.
"In the last week, BlackBerry 10 achieved lab entry with more than 50 carriers, a key step in our preparedness for the launch of BlackBerry 10 in the first quarter of 2013," said RIM's Chief Executive Thorsten Heins, in a brief statement mentions Reuter in the news report.
The launch of BB10 and the new range of devices for the new operating system have been delayed many times since last year and might work as a panacea for the company. Last year one of RIMs co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis announced that the highly integrated chipset on which BB10 phones will run, will not available until mid-2012.
