A game based on popular American TV cartoon series 'The Simpsons' is being developed for Apple's iPad and iPhone by video game developer and publisher, Electronics Art (EA). A CNET report said the game will be available to users for free, but players will have the option of buying virtual currency to speed up the game's progress. The game begins with Homer Simpson causing a major nuclear disaster, which has led to the scattering and disappearance of the inhabitants of Springfield. Playing as Homer, the gamer must look for his lost family members and other Springfield inhabitants, and also rebuild the town as he progresses. The game features several popular characters from the animated series, and is expected to enter the Android market as well. Related Articles: Facebook founder to guest-star on 'The Simpsons'
