Kolkata: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has come out in support of his former teammate and batting maestro, Sachin Tendulkar.
Ganguly has said that the media should refrain from criticising Sachin Tendulkar who has been out of form recently. After Ricky Ponting`s retirement, there has been speculations about Tendulkar’s retirement but Ganguly thinks otherwise.
Ganguly remarked that the retirement of Ricky Ponting does not mean that Tendulkar should also quit. He added that nobody talks about Sachin’s centuries and the wins he has given us. Ganguly emphasized that it is important for Tendulkar to get past the 30 run mark.
Sharing the same platform, Navjot Singh Sidhu criticised media for talking too much about Tendulkar as he cited example of the Australian side supporting Mark Taylor during the former skipper`s bad form.
