New Delhi: The three-time English Premier League champions, Arsenal, are reportedly eyeing the former Chelsea player Didier Drogba to fill the void left by Robin van Persie. The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has made inquiries with the Chinese club to see if there is a way of bringing Drogba back to London.
Didier Drogba, who played a significant role in Chelsea’s triumph at UEFA championship, is reportedly going through a crisis situation with his current club in China. This in turn has opened a window of opportunity for the Gunners to snatch the Ivorian.
According to reports, Arsene Wenger is likely to offer Drogba a short term deal so as to bring him back to the Premier League.
If the Arsenal boss is able to get his hands on the former Chelsea striker, it would add significant fire power to the Gunners alongside Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla.
The 35-year-old Ivorian had left Chelsea for free this summer after helping them win their maiden Champions League trophy.
