New Delhi: After being linked with Manchester United and Manchester City jobs, former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has caught the eye of Chelsea’s millionaire owner Roman Abramovich. The reports suggest that Chelsea is set to offer a whopping £20m-a-season steal Guardiola from other clubs.
It is believed that Chelsea owner’s trigger happy attitude towards the managers is putting off Guardiola. The technical director of Chelsea, Michael Emenalo, has also prepared a backup list including Jurgen Klopp.
The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is determined to win the race for Guardiola, despite intense competition from PSG, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.
Abramovich plans to blow out the competition with a massive offer of a £20m-a-year, four year contract and bonuses that would easily ensure that Guardiola bags nearly £100m for his troubles, making him the world’s highest paid manager.
On the other hand, Pep Guardiola’s agent revealed that the Spaniard will not take any decision before the New Year.
Abramovich, desperate to bag Guardiola as manager, has been under immense criticism for sacking Roberto Di Matteo and appointing the interim manager Rafeal Benitez.
