New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, Barcelona defender Dani Alves stated that his fellow teammates were responsible for Pep Guardiola’s exit from the Spanish club. The Barcelona players were no longer responding to him as he desired, he said.
In a span of just four years, former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola became the most successful coach in the history of the club.
Despite his successful stint, Guardiola shocked everyone after he decided to step down as boss at the end of the last season. The decision was because of the Barcelona players, Alves said.
Alves said that the shocking decision was because of the Barcelona players. He stated that the players did not respond to him on the field as he would have liked, resulting in his departure.
The Brazil international also spoke of his highly-rated teammate Neymar and spoke about the differences between him and Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Without attracting too much heat, Alves carefully said that the two players play in different countries and leagues. The only difference between the two is that Messi plays in Europe while Neymar is still in Brazil, Alves added.
He also suggested that Neymar, in order to give his career a boost, should come to Europe and preferably to Barcelona.
Lionel Messi and Neymar will battle to win FIFA goal of the year after their individual goals were shortlisted for this year’s award.
