Moscow: Spanish giants Real Madrid have ruled Cristiano Ronaldo fit for Portugal's World Cup qualifiers against Russia on Friday.
Goal.com reported that Ronaldo had been injured during Sunday's El Clasico clash (Real Madrid vs Barcelona) but club doctors said the injury was not serious and he could play for Portugal against Russia on Friday.
“Real Madrid have already informed the Portuguese Football Federation that Cristiano Ronaldo will join their national team squad today,” the club said.
“Once there, the Whites’ player will be kept under observation and will have no problem in playing Friday in Moscow for Portugal against Russia in the World Cup 2014 qualifier.”
The El Clasico had ended in a 2-2 draw with Ronaldo and Lionel Messi scoring the two goals for each of their clubs.
Both Russia and Portugal are undefeated in the Group F, agenices reported, and will clash against each other in Moscow.
The other 4 teams in the group include Israel, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
