New Delhi: The young Indian middle-order batsman Manoj Tiwary has been ruled out of the two match T20 International series against England in lieu to a side strain. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked Ambati Rayudu as his replacement.
The Indian batsman was found writhing in pain as he batted in the first innings of West Bengal’s Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra in Rajkot. After scoring 55 runs, he got retired hurt as he was unable to continue in pain.
Tiwary’s injury is a serious blow to Team India’s fragile middle-order as he recently struck to form with his knock of 191 against Gujarat and 93 runs for Board President’s XI against the England side in his first tour game.
He also had a wrist injury earlier this season and he missed out Bengal’s Ranji Trophy game against Madhya Pradesh in Indore.
