Kolkata: Harbhajan Singh would have completed the century of Test of matches had he been included in the playing XI for Eden Gardens' Test on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old, who debuted the longest format of the game in March 1998 against Australia at Bangalore was benched for the third Test match against England.
Skipper MS Dhoni preferred to bring in Ishant Sharma in place of Bhajji, who is going through a rough patch in his career.
Harbhajan Singh, who made a comeback in the Test cricket after a gap of almost one year in Mumbai Test, failed to make any significant contribution as India suffered a humiliating defeat against the visitors. Bhajji could manage to get only two wickets in the both the innings.
So far Harbhajan Singh has scalped 408 wickets with an average of 32.27 in the 99 Test matches.
