Chennai: The hosts were in a big trouble after losing its tops three men in the form of Virender Sehwag, Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara when Sachin Tendulkar and India's shining star Virat Kohli took control of the situation to save day for Team India on Saturday.
With still trailed by 198 runs when Sachin and Kohli resumed India's batting on the third day of the Chennai Test. India suffered a major blow when it lost Sachin Tendulkar a the score of 81 runs.
Despite Sachin's departure, Kohli held nerves and steered India to past 250 marks with skipper MS Dhoni before lunch.
Both of them built 100-runs partnership for the fifth wicket. Kohli slammed 199 balls ton to rescue India on day three of Chennai Test.
