New Delhi: After losing 6 matches on the trot, Delhi Daredevils have finally come to the party in IPL 6. Delhi beat Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets with 3 overs to spare.
The ‘V’ factor worked for Delhi. It was Virender Sehwag who led Delhi to a win batting all the way to the end .
It should also be noted that Sir Vivian Richards who has come to mentor the team has swung a magic wand and transformed the team’s confidence overnight.
Delhi’s IPL campaign got off to a terrible start and they lost all their matches leading up to today.
Even playing on their home ground Delhi were never the favorites to win the match.
Batting first Mumbai put up a good score of 161 on a slow wicket. Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar were the stars of Mumbai innings.
Chasing 161 on the Kotla pitch, Delhi got off to a start they had been waiting for the entire season.
Jayawardene and Sehwag put an opening run stand of 151 by then Delhi’s win was just a formality. Sehwag scored 95 and the crowd got it's money's worth.
Could this be the turnaround Delhi had been waiting for? We’ll have to wait and watch as Delhi cannot afford to lose more than one match in their coming games if it wants to make it to the playoffs.
