Leaflets in Assamese bearing the fatwa were reportedly distributed across two distrcits — Hojai and Nagaon — in central Assam on March 14.
The fatwa that has been issued claims that the upcoming programme at Udali Sonai Bibi College in Lanka, Assam, on March 25, where Nahid is set to perform, is against the Sharia.
A report claim that the fatwa said, "If anti-Sharia acts like musical nights are held on grounds surrounded by masjids, idgahs, madrassas and graveyards, our future generations will attract the wrath of Allah."

The police said that the girl's mother told that the organisers of the March 25 programme told them that the event will go on as scheduled.
