Mount Athos, Greece:
The gender ban in this place not only is implemented on women but female animals too! The Greeks call it, ‘The Holy Mountain’ and it houses 20 Eastern Orthodox monasteries. Only men have a special permit to visit the place on a ferry. The residents believe that presence of females inhibits their path to the spiritual enlightenment.

Saudi Arabia till date remains one of the least friendly countries for women. Till 2010, tourist visas to Saudi Arabia did not exist. Single women are not allowed entry into the country unless they are accompanied by a male companion.

Mount Omine, Japan:
Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site by United Nations in 2004, it bans women from entering the area a or more than 1,300 years, only men have been allowed to navigate the rocky paths leading to the Buddhist temple near the 5,640-foot peak.

Galaxy water park, Bavaria, Germany:
Europe’s largest and most popular water park, Galaxy has banned women from entering it, due to recent incidents of intimate injury to women because of its slides like X-treme Faser slide, in which participants can reportedly hit speeds up to 45 miles per hour. Thus the water park has banned entry of women altogether.
