Bulandshahar: Two days after Uttar Pradesh Police arrested the fifth accused in the suspected honour killing case of Abdul Hakim in Bulandshahr, Mahvish (Hakim’s wife) says that she has only one reason to live — she wants to see her brothers dead.
Notably, the fifth accused Mallik was arrested from a railway station near Bulandshahr, according police sources. Meanwhile, another accused in the case was also arrested a day ago, they added.
It was also learnt that Riyaz Ahmed, who has the status of minister of state, said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered a magisterial probe into the suspected honour killing.
Hakim, 29, was shot dead on November 22, outside a busy restaurant on Bulandshahr district stretch of Grand Trunk (GT) road in an alleged case of honour killing. Adoli, his native village, is right behind the GT road, where he was killed. Meanwhile Mahvish has maintained that her family has killed her husband on November 22 as soon as he entered the village.
Mahvish fell for Hakim and they had eloped in October 2010 after which the couple got married and were staying in Delhi following opposition from the former's family. The fear of getting killed loomed large on them, Mahvish has added.
Abdul Hakim had participated in Aamir Khan's reality show Satyamev Jayate recently and had spoken against the menace of honour killing.
