Temperature below Zero Kelvin possible, scientists

New Delhi: So far, -273.16 deg cel is forever embedded in our minds as the lowest attainable temperature. The temperature at which all-atomic activity seizes to exist, Zero Kelvin (-273.16 deg cel) is considered to be the physically impossible to attain temperature.
Scientists are claiming that they can achieve far lower temperature than Zero Kelvin. Researchers say that a way of looking at negative temperatures is to consider them hotter than infinity.
If possible, we would have engines with more than 100 percent efficiency. Mysteries, like dark energy, would cease to exist.
Scientist asks to imagine temperature to exist on loop rather than a linear scale. Positive temperatures make up one part of the loop, while negative temperatures make up the other part. When temperatures go either below zero or above infinity on the positive region of this scale, they end up in negative territory, quoted Huffington Post.
