Indian audience has witnessed dynasty politics from a long time but after so many years, the tradition has been broken by the debutant Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Aadmi Party. He clean swept the prominent leaders of Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party from various constituencies of the capital city.
It is notable that only Parvesh, who is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma has managed to win the Mehrauli Constituency by a margin of 4500 votes and made it to the assembly. He is the only son of any political leader who has won in a constituency.
On the other hand, Ajay Malhotra, son of experienced BJP leader VK Malhotra was shockingly defeated by AAP candidate Saurabh bharadwaj with a huge margin of 13000 votes. It is surprising that though BJP is been deeply rooted in the area but in spite of this fact, AAP emerged as a winner in the constituency.
The son of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, Jag Parvesh was defeated by AAP's Dinesh Mohaniya in Sangam Vihar constituency.
Jarnail Singh also won with flying colors in Tilak Nagar Constituency leaving Rajiv Babbar and Amrita Dhawan disappointed. Rajiv Babbar is the son of veteran politician OP Babbar.
