For a stable republic in the country, Suryanararan Vyaas, an astrologer from Ujjain, checked in the almanac and set the date of 15th August as the auspicious day of India’s Independence. On the insisting inquiry by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, he revealed that if the vow for Independence is taken on the midnight hour of 15th August, the Indian Republic will be immortal.
In 1947, when English evacuation was confirmed, Dr. Rajendra Prasad sent for Pandit Suryanarayan Vyas through Goswami GaneshDutt Maharaj. On the basis of the Indian almanac, Pt. Vyas declared that only two days are auspicious for Independence: 14th and 15th August the former can be set for Pakistan and the latter for India.
Vyas suggested that the midnight of 15August is auspicious because it is the time of the ascendant rising star which will bring harmony in the Indian democracy. Moreover, the Parliament building and premises was washed late night on Vyas’s suggestion seeing that now it were the Indians who will chair the Parliament after the Britishers.
Prophecies that came true
Before Lalbahadur Shastri’s visit to Tashkent, Vyas mentioned in his essay that Shastri will not return alive. Shastri did not give heed to Vyas’s prophecy which later turned true.
Vyas is well known for his prophecies related to Indian democracy all of which turned out to be true. On 7th December, 1950 in a newspaper article he wrote that Sardar Vallabbhai Patel’s health can go critical till 17 December of that fateful year. On 16 December, 1950 the Iron Man of India was on his deathbed. India lost her gem and Vyas’s acumen was reaffirmed.
Earlier in 1932, S. Vyas wrote about earthquakes in English daily. He released a letter mentioning 300 earthquakes that he prophesied can occur in contemporary times. He accurately prophesied about Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi as well.
He had also said that after 1990 India will progress and by 2020 India will be on the zenith of the world. Even though India got independence under the effect of Saturn, India was divided into parts, Ketu’s predicament resulted in famine and poverty. But in 1990, Venus’s predicament was followed by India’s untrammeled progress.
