BRAZEN DISPLAY OF INSENSITIVITY: Rape victim made to wait naked for 3 hours in govt hospital

    Bangalore: Violating all the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry for treating rape victims, doctors at a government hospital in Mysore made a mentally challenged rape survivor wait naked for three hours.

    The 23-year-old woman was brought to Cheluvamba Hospital by the police for a medical examination. She was maid to lie naked on a hospital bed for three hours.

    Ironically, she along with her family members was also humiliated by the hospital authorities.
    Police officials have also confirmed that the victim was made to lie on the hospital bed in naked state for three hours.
    Taking notice of the incident, Karnataka State Women's Commission conducted a probe into the incident on Monday.
    Commission's Chairperson Manjula Manasa summoned the doctor on duty and directed him not to repeat the incident.
    The doctor told the commission that his hospital lacks special areas and separate facilities for examining rape victims.
