Proud to be Indian: Patna has the world's largest Wi-Fi zone
Patna:India is on the path of progress and some states who were once called backward in many ways are today ahead of even big countries like China and US.
Bihar is one such state. All set to celebrate its foundation day on March 22, Bihar in the last few years has progressed considerably not only in terms of infrastructure but technologically too.
Bihar's capital Patna houses the world's largest Wi-Fi zone. The coverage area is around 20 km. Earlier, the recorded was in the name of China, where the Wi-Fi network was 3.5 km.
If you have an internet-enabled device and you are anywhere on the stretch from NIT-Patna on Ashok Rajpath to Danapur, you can now access the internet.
In order to promote IT sector in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.had introduced this free Wi-Fi zone concept. Along with this scheme, Nitish also inaugurated 'city surveillance and dial 100 " services. In the different places in Patna, more than 100 CCTV cameras have been installed.
