Patna/New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation is mulling to shift Patna International Airport to Bihta in a bid to avoid huge traffic congestion problem in the city. Normally, due to traffic it takes a lot of time to reach Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport, which is situated in the heart of the city.
According to sources, airforce base situated in Bihta might be transformed into civil airport and vice-versa. Meanwhile, sources have also said that the state government wants the airport shifted to Nalanda.
Reviving historical Nalanda University is one of the most ambitious projects the BJP government is undertaking. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself is particularly interested in giving back the glory the University had in ancient times.
