Chandigarh: Here’s some news for the music, dance and theatre enthusiasts in the city. The UT administration's 'Arts and Heritage Festival' will kick off here on March 25.
The five-day gala event will comprise classical music, dance and literary programmes
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, UT Home Secretary Ram Niwas said, “The objective of the festival is to inform and educate the youth about the culture and art of the country.”
The Chandigarh Lalit Kala Academy (CLKA) will also use the occasion to promote art and dramatics in Chandigarh.
CLKA chairman Dewan Manna said the Academy will organise an art and theatre workshop during the fest.
The workshop, to be held at Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10, will witness noted painter Atul Dodiya and others give participants tips on art and theatre.
Dodiya will also deliver an address at the same venue at 5.30 pm on March 28.
The Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi (CSA) too is a part of the festival.
CSA will organise a face-to-face with noted theatreperson Neelam Mansingh and dramatist Dr Atmajit at the UT guest house at 10.30 am on March 27 and eminent Urdu poets Shahryar and Sheen Kaaf Nizam at 2 pm on the same day.
