Chandigarh: The city residents are so obsessed with pistol and the craze for buying pistol is so much increasing that the Ordnance Cable Factory received nearly 100 applications in a single day as a pre-order for .32” IOF revolver. The Ordnance factory has invited applications for 500 pistols, but for their surprise nearly 100 people applied on the first day itself.
The company will issue revolver on first-come, first serve basis. Ordnance Cable Factory supervisor Raja Thakur said that nearly 100 applicants have submitted their application. According to him, the company is expected to receive all the 500 applications within a day or two. The department will then start scrutinizing the applications and successful applicant will start receiving the revolver within next 6 months.
The revolver will be available for Rs 79636 in city as Chandigarh levies 12.5 per cent VAT on revolver as compared to Kanpur’s 25 per cent where its price is about Rs 86,000.
It is pertinent to note that Ordnance Cable Factory comes under Ministry of Defence.
