After the hullabaloo over Kriti versus Bob, the makers of the former held a press conference on July 1 to clear the air. The event had director Shirish Kunder, actor Manoj Bajpayee, Muvizz.com’s CEO Abhayanand Singh, Co-founder Piiyush Singh and Lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee addressing the media.

The meeting aimed at exposing the scam on their latest short film Kriti, which is under allegations of plagiarism by Nepalese filmmaker Aneel Neupane for picking up on the central concept of his short film, Bob, which was put out on Vimeo in 2015.
The team explained the press about the manipulations of time duration taking place in Vimeo and how they feel victimised of such manipulation by their legal opponent Neupane.

In order to make the media understand the technicality of these manipulations, the team also demonstrated a clip which was covered live at the press conference and uploaded on Vimeo with a timeline of 5 months ago, thereby unleashing the real story behind the planned scam made by this Nepalese filmmaker.

Apparently, Kriti was shot in February 2016 while the script was ready 6 months prior to the shoot and also circulated amongst the crew and actors so an allegation of such a sort is totally uncalled for and false.

Shedding more light on the same, Shirish said, “We planned the film and its release as per the artists and their availability. We shot it and then released it on YouTube by keeping everyone in the loop. It's unfortunate that I spoke to some media publications and told them about video scams and date changing style too, but no one quoted that right. Our film is true and so are we.”

Backing the director, his lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui said, “My clients have done nothing wrong . We have sent a notice to the concerned person but they haven't reverted as yet. Changing video updates and it's date is easier than anything. So 'copy' allegation is totally wrong. We have expressed our view to YouTube as well and hope for the best. There is no legal allegation so we can't go to court because we can't ask them to come to India from Nepal.”
