    In a conversation with Daily Bhaskar.com, Omung Kumar reveals the top 10 facts related to the ‘Ashoka’ set. Here is what he revealed:
    1) The set has been designed by Umang and has been constructed by Nitin Desai.
    2) No computer graphics have been used to design the set. Designs of pillars, dome are a part of Umang’s imagination. Every design is a hand-made design.
    3) Set on the land of around one and half acre, it is been used to shoot for multipurpose activities. (Darbar, Bazar, rooms, etc)
    4) The base of the design is made of iron and lot of fibre has been used upon it.
    5) Most of the carvings consists designs related to coins (mudras), lions and elephants of those era.
    6) It took almost three months in designing the concept and two months to construct the set in Karjat.
    7) The set was constructed with the help of almost 300 workers; working day and night.
    8) Shahrukh Khan Starrer film ‘Ashoka’ did not have much in terms of set designing; this set has more details about that era.
    9) To make this set, Umang read lot of history; not only about Indian history but also studied Greek history. Some portions of Greek history have also been used while making the set.
