“Wo kaun si film hai jisme Sonam Kapoor ne bikini pehani hai (Which film has Sonam Kapoor’s bikini scene)?,” this was the question everyone was asking before the release of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bewakoofiyaan. There was clearly more buzz about the bikini scene than the film. And one can easily say after watching the film that Sonam Kapoor looks much better with her clothes on.
Once Sonam Kapoor said in an interview that she will never wear a bikini in a film as she doesn’t have that body. We wonder what forced her to take this step?
This review might end here for most of the people who are interested in bikini, but for anyone who is interested in the film, read on.
There is nothing spectacular about Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bewakoofiyaan, but we can’t completely write off the film as it has got some fun element. However, don’t expect this film to be out and out comedy fare.
Sadly, first 30 minutes are disappointing, unable to produce any smiles. As soon as Rishi Kapoor is introduced, some funny moments entertain.
How is the chemistry between Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana?
Please don’t expect a repeat of Vicky Donor in Bewakoofiyaan. Neither the concept is new, nor the film is that funny. The worst is chemistry between Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana. In fact, Rishi Kapoor has better chemistry with Ayushmann.
Ayushmann Khurrana is neither a king of romance, nor is he a mass entertainer, but there is something about this VJ turned actor which attracts audience to the theater. But due to loopholes in Bewakoofiyaan, his performance will go unnoticed.
Instead of selecting the perfect producers, he should select a perfect script. Otherwise, he will become one film wonder.
Expectations were high from Sonam Kapoor after her performance in Raanjhanaa, but she has given a disappointing performance. It could have been better for both Sonam and the film, if there was no bikini scene.
How is Rishi Kapoor in the film?
Bewakoofiyaan might be for the youngsters, but Rishi Kapoor takes away the limelight. He is the lead actor of the film.
Is it just for the urban youth?
The story is set in Delhi and revolves around two urban youngsters who are planning to get married. The urban youth may empathies with the characters.
How is the direction?
Even if the director Nupur Asthana is asked to review this film, she will not give more than 2 stars to it. The problem is not with the direction or script, the concept is boring.
Big Question- Should I watch it?
Bewakoofiyaan is a break up, patch up saga which entertains and bores in parts. If you are under 30 and have nothing better to do this weekend, Bewakoofiyaan is the film for you.
