There’s a famous saying that clearly states that ‘Love is blind’. It does not depend on caste, creed and especially ‘age’. An old man can be romantically involved with a much younger female or vice versa. And this trend is not very uncommon in Bollywood as well. Many male celebs in Bollywood have gone ahead and got married or are in a relationship with females who are older to them. Here we bring to you, some of the Bollywood couples who have dared to date irrespective of their age.
The most talked about couple in Bollywood is that of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Abhishek who got married to Aishwarya in April 2007 is three years younger to her. While Abhishek was born on February 5, 1976, Aishwarya was born on November 1, 1973. In spite of being married for more than four years, their age difference has never created any trouble in their married life.
Famous Bollywood choreographer and film director, Farah Khan is happily married to Shirish Kunder for almost eight years now. They both got married in December 2004. Farah is almost eight years elder to Shirish but their age difference has never been an issue between them. While Farah was born on January 9, 1965, Shirish was born on May 24, 1973. The couple was blessed with triplets, Czar, Diva and Anya in February 2008.
Director-turned-actor, Farhan Akhtar is married to Adhuna Bhabani who is six years elder to him. Farhan is the son of noted lyricist and writer, Javed Akhtar. Adhuna is a hairstylist and runs a salon with her brother. In spite of their huge age difference, the couple has never faced the brunt of it. Farhan and Adhuna are the proud parents of two daughters, Shakya and Akira. They look like a complete picture perfect family.
Manisha Koirala tied the knot with Samrat Dahal in June, 2010. Samrat is seven years younger than Manisha Koirala. Even though both of them were very much in love when they got married, their marriage hit the rocks, soon after. Manisha was all set to get a divorce but after constant advises from her family and friends, she decided to continue with her marriage commitment and since then they have been together.
The concept of an elder woman marrying a younger man is not new in Bollywood. Legendary actor Sunil Dutt married actress Nargis who was a year elder to him. The couple fell in love on the sets of ‘Mother India’ and soon got married. They both were happily married until Nargis died in 1981 due to cancer.
With so many couples getting married in spite of the age difference between them, it surely proves that ‘love is blind’ and ‘age’ is definitely not a matter of concern!
