Story: Chatur Singh Two Star, is the story of an infamous cop, who is known for goofing up cases and bringing embarrassment to the Mumbai Police Department. Despite his foolishness, he embarks on an important mission and solves a murder mystery and gets himself promoted to 3 stars. The film deals with Chatur’s secret mission and the series of hilarious events that he kickstarts, while solving the mystery. Story Treatment: Chatur Singh Two Star, is based on a novel ‘Chaalak Jasoos’ . Though Director Ajay Chandhok has tried to tickle the funny bones of the audience, he fails in his attempt. There was a need for the characters to be etched out in a better way, to leave a considerable mark. Sanjay’s clumsiness and hilarious mannerisms add to the chaos and confusion of the plot, rather than adding some funny moments. Add to this chaotic situation, Ameesha, who still needs to work on her dialogue delivery and acting. Star Cast : Though Sanjay Dutt as Chatur Singh is at his rib tickling best with perfect disguises, looks and mannerisms that are extremely hilarious, but still he fails to impress, as the storyline lacks punches. Ameesha is a total waste- she just looks good onscreen without any strong character sketch to complement her role. Anupam Kher gets a blink and miss role and thus, is unable to make any significant contribution. Except Sanjay Dutt, none of the characters gather momentum as the movie proceeds. Direction : Director Ajay Chandhok‘s direction is flawed to some extent and is unintentionally funny. The story lacks any basic storyline and fails to create any impact with its funny moments. The adaptation should have been cinematic and not bookish. The concept is fresh, but lacks the correct punch. The film could have been a good attempt, had Chandhok blended the storyline with apt quirkiness and funny moments. Dialogues/ Cinematography/Music : Dialogues are monotonous and not quirky enough to tickle your funny bones. Cinematography is nothing noteworthy, but complements the storyline. Sajid-Wajid have done no wonders with the music and no brownie points to Sanjay Dutt for crooning 2 songs ‘Murga anda dega' and the title track ‘Singh Singh Singh… Chatur Singh coming’. Ups and Downs: Chatur Singh deserves no special mention, as the film has no storyline and narrative. In fact, considering the fact that the genre is comedy, the fun element is also missing. Simply stay away from Chatur Singh this week and be with Anna to fight against corruption.
