Warner Bros. has released the first teaser poster for ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises', which shows buildings in Gotham city crumbling to reveal Batman’s insignia.
Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman will be part of the movie, and, if rumours are to be believed, Liam Neeson will be reprising his role as Ra’s ul Gul (Old nemesis from ‘Batman Begins’).
The new faces making an appearance in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ include Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon- Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Tom Hardy.
The poster brings back memories of Christopher Nolan’s last blockbuster release ‘Inception’, whose promo posters showed similar effects of buildings tumbling.
By including Joseph Gordon- Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Tom Hardy on the team, Nolan has shown his clear preference to work with his previous team from among the main cast of ‘Inception’.
Rumours doing the rounds claim that a teaser trailer will be shown during the 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2' screening, which releases on July 15.
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is expected to hit theatres on July 20, 2012.
With the release of the poster and possible trailer, Warner Bros. is whetting the fans’ appetite and building excitement for the third installation of Batman series under Nolan’s direction.
