All those who have seen the trailers of Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra’s Hasee Toh Phasee may already have a fair idea of the plot of the story, but still there is more to know. A weird girl and a simple guy fall in love with each other, and they face endless problems before their love story ends with a success.
The only interesting part in the story is Parineeti’s acting. In fact, it’s her film all the way, and she is the hero of the film. All other characters, including Sidharth, are just seen complementing her in the movie.
Is Parineeti Chopra’s character in Hasee Toh Phasee similar to the roles in her earlier films?
Firstly, if you liked Parineeti Chopra’s performance in her earlier films including Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and Ishaqzaade, then you will fall in love with her after watching Hasee Toh Phasee. She has proven it once again that why is she one of the most talented actors of her generation.
She is playing the role of a mad Gujrati scientist, who eats toothpaste, makes weird faces and do all odd things.
You will get a glimpse of her earlier performances in this film also, but her character Meetu will take you on a laughter ride. Critics might find her performance full of overacting, but for her fans, it’s a treat.
How is Sidharth Malhotra in Hasee Toh Phasee?
Sidharth Malhotra’s character fails to leave an intended effect on the audiences. He is playing the role of a simple and confused young boy, which any random hero could have played. He appears to be boring in front of Parineeti. However, both Parineeti and Sidharth complement each other in the film.
So, is Hasee Toh Phasee just for Parineeti and Sidharth’s fans?
The biggest problem with Hasee Toh Phasee is that Bollywood filmmakers have overdone the theme of romantic comedies.
A boy and a girl, wedding setup, love triangle, family drama, and the leads meet in the end (mostly at the airport when one of the leads is about to leave the country).
Mostly the plot remains the same, and the only difference is in the way the lead characters behave. For instance, take Parineeti and Sidharth out of Hasee Toh Phasee and put Shahid and Kareena Kapoor, you will get Jab We Met 2, or put Imran and Sonam, you will get I Hate Luv Storys 2.
So, Hasee Toh Phasee rides on performance of Parineeti Chopra, and her fans are going to love it.
The Big Question-Should you watch Hasee Toh Phasee?
If you have been waiting for a Parineeti and Sidharth’s film, then book your tickets. Also, if you are not expecting much, and looking forward to just pass your time, go for Hasee Toh Phasee.
