Tamanchey Movie Review: Watchable despite loopholes
Imagine what will happen if two criminals fall in love with each other? Their date will be a bank robbery, the future planning would involve drugs supply, and the favorite pass time would be killing people. Tamanchey is not that typical romantic film, which Bollywood producers serve us almost every week.
The unusual story of Tamanchey entertains in parts, and the film is watchable despite many loopholes. Munna aka Nikhil Dwivedi and Babu aka Richa Chadda have many dark sides about their characters. Some parts of the films are hard to digest and boring.
Navneet Behal’s direction has both high points and low points.
How is the chemistry between Richa Chadda and Nikhil Dwivedi?
Babu and Munna have a strange chemistry. Babu is a Delhi based drug dealer, while Munna is a kidnaper from a small village. Richa Chadda seems to be playing the same role of a rude criminal since her debut. But we can’t complaint as she does it perfection every time.
It is hard to digest Nikhil as a hero. In the climax, Richa explains to the villain about how smart Manu aka Nikhil is, but it turns out to unintentionally funny. Dwivedi’s local accent irritates after a point.
What is the story?
Babu and Manu fall in love with each other while they are escaping from police. Manu follows Babu to Delhi, where he finds out that she is part of a drug dealing racket. He impresses the gang leader, who is also the bed partner of Babu, and joins the gang. The love story between the two continues until the gang leader gets to know the truth.
Big Question-Should I watch Tamanchey?
The film has many loopholes, and some parts are hard to digest. But Tamanchey still qualifies for a one time watch. If you are expecting glamour of Bang Bang or class of Haider, then please plan something else for the week. But if you are a fan of crime capers, which are strange yet entertaining, then book the tickets for Tamanchey.
