After making a mark in Bollywood, the actor is all set to showcase his talent on the foreign shores!
Mishra’s latest flick Masaan has made it to the Official Selection of the 2015 Cannes Film festival in the Un Certain Regard section. The actor who’s currently busy with Telugu film Kick 2 says that he’s on cloud nine and is extremely excited to walk the red carpet at the international film festival.
Displaying his comic sense, Mishra also shares that the event has given him an opportunity to wear a Tuxedo for the first time in his life. He says, “I got a call from the producer who asked me to be ready with a Tux. Bhai humne toh kabhi zindagi mein Tux nahi pehna. Not even in my marriage! I don’t consider myself a Tuxedo person at all.”
Mishra who hails from Bihar says that Masaan is a tribute to his father. He elaborates, “My previous film Dum Laga Ke Haisha was shot at Ganga. It’s a place where my mom was born and raised. That film was a tribute to my mother, while Masaan is a tribute to my father. It’s set in Benares, the place where my father was born and brought up.”
Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Masaan has Mishra playing the role of a pandit who sells puja materials at the ghats. The film is produced by Anurag Kashyap and also features Richa Chadha in lead role.
