Ugly Movie Review: Dark and thrilling
What do you expect from the director of films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Black Friday? A hard hitting film, which stays with you even after you leave the theater, a film which has a dark side to it, yet it is entertaining. Ugly is another masterpiece from Anurag Kashyap's closet.
    Is Ugly about child trafficking?
How Ugly delivers its message is simply amazing. The film has child trafficking as an issue in the backdrop. The strength of Ugly lies in its desperation, negativity and a strong sense to take revenge. True the film's title, Ugly exposes the dark side of various characters of the film.
    How is the direction?
Many young directors can learn the art of perfectly executing a dark story from Anurag Kashyap. The director knows how to entertain audience even with an off beat concept. We couldn't think of the suspense till the end.
However, at two hours and eight minutes, the film is a bit long. Many scenes of the film appear to repetitive and slow.
    How is acting?
From his actors, Kashyap has succeeded in drawing out the best. Ronit Roy as a tough cop is superb, especially in a scene where he beats his two friends in custody.
Other actors including Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vineet Kumar Singh, Rahul Bhat have given a brilliant performance.
Big Question- Should I watch Ugly?
Ugly is special, and if you love Anurags earlier film, you will love this one too.
