Google to invest $100 crore on advertisement of Android One, Intex, Celkon also join in
Google is readying for the launch of Android One smartphone in India. According to a report in The Economics Times launch is planned in October around Diwali.
In a big push to push the sale of this $100 handset Google is ready to spend “more than Rs 100 crore with its partners on advertising and marketing” of the phone says another report in The Economic Times.
“Google will supply hardware reference points for these companies to base the phone on. The company will also provide software and subsequent updates for the phones,” says the ET report.
This is a project that will produce smartphones of high quality to more people around the world. While announcing the project at the Google I/O developer conference this year Google said “Introducing Android One, a new initiative to bring affordable, high-quality smartphones to billions more people around the globe. Coming to India this fall: Android phones for under $100.”
