Xiaomi RedMi Note successor to take on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Sony Xperia Z3!
Chinese Smartphone player Xiaomi seems to be prepping to launch the successor of its RedMi Note Smartphone soon. A Chinese report has tipped specification details of the phone which could be launched as the RedMi Note 2.
As per the leaked information, the Xiaomi’s next Redmi Note smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s Octa-core processor ticking at 2.2GHz, and coupled with a massive 3GB RAM. The phone is also speculated to sport higher pixel cameras to compete against higher end phones on the photography front. The report has it that it would adorn a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The report alleges that the phone will come in four variants including the 16GB with its price tagged at $165, 32GB priced at $215, and 64GB priced at $245, and 128GB variant, price of which is not given.
Also, it will be powered by a 3,500 mAh battery which is higher than the 3,100mAh battery on Xperia Z3 that promises to last for two days of moderate use on a single charge. Apart from these, it is likely to don a 5.5-inch screen which was also seen on its predecessor, though its screen resolution and pixel density are not given in the report and could be higher than the original RedMi Note.
With specifications like an octa-core chipset and a 20.7-megapixel camera on this upcoming smartphone, Xiaomi could be planning to offers a cheaper substitute to the likes of Samsung’s and Sony’s latest flagship Smartphones, which have similar specifications but are priced heavily.
