Is Ashwathama still alive?

A Vaidya (Ayurvedic Doctor) in Madhya Pradesh had a tough patient with a septic forehead. After several applications of a fail-proof potion, the wound was still fresh and kept bleeding. Dronacharya was biased towards Ashwathama
The guru of Pandavas and Kauravas, Dronacharya had a rule. He would ask all his students to fill the pot with water before beginning the daily studies. The pots were provided by Drona to everyone. His rule was whoever brought the pot filled with water first to him, he would teach them secret lessons of archery.
Since Ashwathama was his son, Dronacharya had a soft corner for him, which led to a bias. He purposely gave a smaller pot to his son so that he would come with water first. Because of this, Ashwathama learnt all secret archery lessons that others did not. But soon Arjun learnt what was happening and he took help of his varunastra that allowed to him to reach faster than Ashwathama.
