    Dating back to 15th century, this strange looking well is something that a lot of people fear while for some it is a wonder in itself. This well is situated in North Yorkshire and is known as the ‘Dripping Well’of Knaresborough. A scary looking well, which according to the legends turns everything that touches it into stone.
    History:
    The well is said to be cursed by a witch. Mother Shipton, the daughter of a local prostitute was said to be born near the cave feets away from the dripping well. Mother Shipton is famous for making potions and medicines out of the herbs she collected from the well. Mother Shipton also predicted the future and that is why she was also the prophetess of Knaresborough. A student in the 15th century also noticed that many locals drank the same water and showered with it too. The water was known for its miraculous powers.
