The day of Dhanteras, which falls two days before Diwali, is considered the most auspicious day for shopping.
This year, it falls on October 28. The grand day is just round to corner, and if you are wondering what to buy and what not, here are some clues!
According to scriptures, purchasing these items on Dhanteras brings good luck in a person's home and life.
1) Buy silvareware or utensils made of brass (peetal), and keep them in the East direction of home.
On Dhanteras, it is considered auspicious to buy a gold coin of Laxmi-Ganesh, and keep it in your safe/locker. If you can't buy a gold coin, bring any photo of Laxmi-Ganesh home, and chant 'Shree Sukta' paath for prosperity.
