For people like us, who have grown watching Bollywood movies, nothing is more grandiose than love. Whether it is running through a crowded airport to tell them how much you love them or fighting dozens of goons singlehandedly to protect your lady, love for us is going out of your way to do something that is not actually humanely possible.
A Seoul based illustrator welcomes us to reality by using art to describe what love actually is- and trust us people, it is in the small things. Andrew Hou has described how he feels for his wife Kate, with the help of some adorable paintings. Andrew’s work proves that you don’t always need words to say what you want to say.
The couple has been married for 5 years now and lives together in Seoul. Andrew is Chinese but was born in Canada and his wife is Korean. Since Korean is not the mother tongue of the artist, he found it difficult to express his love to his wife. So he started a series named ‘HJ-Story’ in his personal blog that illustrated how much he loved his wife.
Andrew would create the doodles and send it to his wife’s cell phone everyday. When he had a huge collection he started posting them online and now he has a huge fan following.
Andrew says that he wants viewers to appreciate the small things in life that matter. He says that we get so busy with our loves that we forget about the little moments that are important. Through his art, Andrew reminds all of us of the moments in a relationship that actually matter the most.
