Yuvraj Kanchi is a mango trader who has been in the business for years. This year, with the permission of temple authorities, he has covered the temple with delicious mangoes.

Kanchi has laid out 11,011 mangoes across the length and breadth of this shrine.

Kanchi says that he has selected to do this because mangoes are Ganapati’s favourite fruit!

Temple authorities say that the mangoes will be given out as prashad.

People have flocked here from all corners to delight themselves with the sight and smell of delicious mangoes hanging from the walls, and decorating the central shrine. The temple is known as the Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati temple whose devotees can be found across the globe. It is not only the most famous but also the richest Ganpati temple in Pune.

The temple is situated close to Shanivar Wada where the Peshwas had their headquarters.
