Only a day left for parents to apply under RTE Act
Bhopal: Parents are left with only one day to apply in private schools as schools will close admission process for the second round of RTE on April 20. The school department will hold luck draw on April 25.
The schools department is geared up to hold second round of admission under RTE act.
The department has formed nodal officers for holding the lucky draw in private schools and completing the process with full transparency.
The department has also put up a list of vacant seats in various city schools of different wards so that parents can refer to the list while applying in schools. The list is put up at key locations including private schools.
"The list has been put up to assist parents who can save time in applying in schools where the seats are already filled up," said a department official.
However, the department continues to face challenge in motivating parents to apply in all schools instead of just the more renowned schools.
Due to this a large number of seats are going vacant in other private schools.
Even in the previous years of RTE implementation, many seats were unfilled as parents did not apply in all schools and instead targeted the popular ones of the city. In the last two years of RTE, a large number of seats in city schools were left unfulfilled due to the similar challenge before the department of promoting lesser renowned private schools.
Over 3500 children are expected to be admitted in private schools of Indore in the second round of Right To Education (RTE) admission.
The seats in lesser renowned private schools are going vacant as parents are not applying there despite our request to them for applying in all the schools in their ward.
Lucky draw will be held on April 25 for admission.
