Bhopal: A local court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of MLA Asharani, accused in the murder of Tijji Bai, her domestic help.
During the hearing, Justice Sarita Singh observed that since the police is still investigating the case, Asharani’s bail plea can not be accepted.
Earlier, the BJP MLA’s interim bail was rejected by the high court following which she surrendered in the district court.
What is the Tijji Bai murder case
Tijji Bai was found dead at Asharani’s Bhopal residence in November 2007. The BJP MLA’s husband Ashok Veer Vikram Singh alias Bhaiya Raja and his aide Gopal were made accused for allegedly raping and abetting the suicide of the domestic help.
Singh, who is already in jail in connection with the killing of his niece Vasundhara Bundela, has a history of involvement in murder cases.
He has, in the past, been implicated in the sensational killing of Siddharth Rao, nephew of former Union home minister Buta Singh.
