CCTV footage reveals horrific sight of BRTS road accident

    Indore: Soon after the BRTS lane was made accessible to all kinds of vehicles, a tragic accident happened on Sunday morning which struck down an elderly man and a 12-year-old boy. A speeding car bumped into both the victims. Another accident was narrowly avoided in Satsai road junction. A car driver said that because of the railing, he could not see that a man was at the zebra crossing. Atal Indore City Transport Service Co. Ltd. (AICTSL) has registered a complaint against both the car drivers.

    The victim, Anant Narayan Upadhyaya at around 9 o’clock in the morning, in front of AICTSL office at AB road, was using the zebra crossing to get to Indore bus stop when, when a car coming from Palasia road junction entered the BRTS lane hit him down. Upadhyaya was thrown to a height of five to six feet and fell on the car bonnet.
    Young car driver, Vijay Choral’s father said that his son couldn’t see the man crossing the street because of the railing. The victim has been admitted to ICU and will be operated on Monday.
    Another car accident on the same day
    Around 2 pm in the afternoon, near Industry house, a 12-year-old child was hit by a car. Traffic warden, Shivam Nagar said that the child has a severe head injury. The car has been registered under the name of senior manager of Life Insurance Company.
    The authorities will file a review petition
    The district administration will file a review petition against the High court’s decision to open the BRTS corridor for other four-wheelers too.
