Indore: A week of hullabaloo and speculations later, the city finally got the good news. I-T giant Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) campus on a 100-acre land on the Super Corridor of the city has been finally a green signal by the government.
In the crucial meeting on Friday, the Indore Development Authority, which already had given the I-T company an acceptance in principal, gave a formal nod after discussing it at the cabinet level.
TCS’ ‘I-T Delivery Center’ will be constructed on the piece of land it chose on the Super Corridor. The interesting part of the whole deal is that the IDA is now quoting the price of the land, adjoining the medical hub, to be Rs 158 crore. Earlier, it had said that the land is valued at Rs 240 crore. TCS has offered to pay Rs 25 crore for it.
In Friday’s meeting it was decided that instead of IDA handing over the land to TCS, the government should do the honours. The land will now be transferred to the I-T department of the state government, who will take matters forward.
The proposal for this whole process is likely to be sent to the state government by Saturday.
